Path to Piety The Best Dhikr  The cherished Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: اَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَاَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ "لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ is the best dhikr, and اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ is the best supplication."[1] لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ alludes to the whole kalima ṭayyiba (Unadulterated Explanation), including muḥammadur rasūlallāh. Monotheistic skeptics and even Iblis would discuss لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ, however that was sufficiently not to save them from the risks of incredulity. An individual must be a devotee when he adds muḥammadur rasūlallāh. This strong assertion makes the doubter a devotee and cleanses the core of profound ills. The heart stirs to the blend of Allah's glorification and the Prophet's acclaim. Subsequently, it is the most prevalent dhikr.
